Warranty Information
Warranty & Terms and Conditions
By placing an order with Fire & Ice Moissanite, you are offering to purchase a product on, and subject to, the following terms and conditions.
30-Day Warranty
We offer a 30-day warranty covering manufacturing faults. Please inspect your jewellery on receipt of delivery.
This warranty applies only to customers who purchased directly from Fire & Ice Moissanite and are named on the product receipt.
What's covered:
- Genuine manufacturing defects
What's not covered:
- Neglect, misuse or accidental damage
- General wear and tear, including scratches from everyday use
- Lost, bent or knocked items, and lost stones
- Contact with a foreign substance, including hand sanitiser, soap, cleaning products, skin creams, perfume or hairdressing products
- Tarnish or discolouration caused by the wearer's environment or skin acidity
- Wear or fading of gold plating on plated pieces (see below)
Following our Care Instructions is a condition of the warranty. The warranty is void if an item has been misshapen, bent, exposed to chemicals, or if care instructions haven't been followed. It's at our discretion whether a faulty product is repaired, replaced or refunded, and if a warranty claim is voided due to care instructions not being followed, we won't refund postage or item costs.
Plated Jewellery: Please Read Before You Buy
Some of our pieces are plated with a gold layer over a base metal such as copper or brass. Plating is a thin surface layer, and by nature, it will wear over time. This is expected and normal, not a fault.
How quickly plating wears depends on individual factors like how often a piece is worn, skin chemistry, and exposure to water, perfumes, lotions, cleaning products and sweat. Wear, fading, tarnishing or changes to the finish caused by everyday use are considered normal wear and tear on plated pieces, and are not covered under warranty.
If you're after a piece that holds up to daily wear with minimal upkeep, our solid S925 sterling silver collection is the better fit. Plated pieces are best suited to those who don't mind a bit of extra care, or who plan to wear the piece more occasionally.
S925 Sterling Silver Care
S925 sterling silver is a precious metal that can tarnish or dull over time, especially with exposure to moisture, chemicals or acidic skin types. This is a natural process, not a fault, and isn't covered under warranty.
Regular upkeep with a silver polishing cloth is the best way to keep it looking its best.
Understanding Tarnish and Oxidation
Tarnish can happen to any metal jewellery, plated or solid, and is caused by a range of factors including perfumes, moisturisers, tanning lotions, cleaning chemicals and skin acidity. It can also result from oxidation, a natural reaction between a metal and oxygen, which can occur from either too little or too much air exposure during storage.
Because tarnish is caused by external factors rather than a fault in manufacturing, it isn't covered under warranty.
We don't recommend storing pieces long-term in their original box, as it's designed for safe transit rather than storage. A purpose-made jewellery box or pouch is best. A gentle polish with a clean microfibre or jewellery polishing cloth will usually restore shine.
Caring for Your Jewellery
To help your pieces last, we recommend removing jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning, sleeping, or applying perfumes, lotions, oils and beauty products. See our full Care Instructions page for detailed guidance by collection.
